Remembrance Garden
Contemporary Remembrance Garden Transformation in Guildford, Surrey

Project Overview
To create a garden that is completely different to any other garden in the area, a peaceful place where the family can enjoy the space, sit down and relax in the garden. This contemporary remembrance garden in Surrey Hills was designed as a tribute to Ailsa Margaret Lawson, who sadly passed away before she could see it completed.
Before & After
A boring new build garden with nothing but a lawn and a small section of patio has been transformed into a serene, design-forward oasis. We created a new patio with proper drainage, raised planters, a comfortable seating area, and a striking water feature, all using carefully selected natural materials that work in harmony together.
Client Vision
A garden to showcase a completely different approach to gardening, to showcase sculptures using quirky natural features that stand out, an area to sit down, enjoy the garden, read a book and listen to the water. The client wanted a space that would honour Ailsa's memory whilst creating a peaceful retreat for the family.
Our Approach
This design marries a clear, traditional structure with playful, natural art, so it feels both ordered and delightfully surprising. We focused on creating a thoughtful mix of materials that would transform this Surrey Hills garden into a relaxed gathering spot that feels as stylish as an indoor living room.
